Hyperbaric Oxygen

Yes, Hyperbaric helps people heal from injury and trauma! The same mechanisms for wound healing are really the same mechanisms as recovery from performance. Exercises are based on principles of purposeful damage followed by purposeful recovery. That is how we get stronger. Well HBOT not only increases the speed of recovery, it also allows us to tap into a higher level of performance by delivering more Oxygen, the fuel our body needs to perform at high levels!

Hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT) is the medical use of oxygen in a pressurized environment. Increased pressure allows oxygen to dissolve and saturate more effectively in the blood system, primarily the plasma (independent of hemoglobin) which yields a variety of physiological, biochemical, and cellular effects. This non-invasive therapy is an efficient way to increase oxygen levels to all organs of the body. Our sessions last for 60-90 minutes, during which our clients relax in the chamber and breathe normally. Recommendations for measured changes are between 40-60 sessions. Specific recommendations will be given following consultation with Dr. Bagnell.

Despite the small number of insurance approved indications for hyperbaric in the US, there are over 150 internationally approved indications for the use of HBOT. While Hyperbaric therapy was initially more widely used for treating very aggressive and acute conditions such as gangrene, osteomyelitis, radiation burns, diabetic neuropathy and many others, it is now also widely accepted as a tool to help patients with less severe conditions, chronic inflammatory issues, subclinical infections and many other health issues and concerns.
